Looking to build an ADU?

Are you looking to add living space to your property, generate rental income, or create a multi-generational living situation for your family? Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs) might be the perfect solution for you!

ADUs have become increasingly popular in recent years as they provide a cost-effective way to add living space to an existing property while also increasing its value. We at The Omni Company specialize in designing and building ADUs that meet our clients’ unique needs and preferences. From traditional ADUs to JADUs, we can help you navigate the entire construction process, ensuring that your project is completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality.

Types of ADU Builds

Below are some common types of accessory dwelling units (ADUs), including

Detached ADUs, Attached ADUs. Garage Conversions, and JADUs.

Detached ADU

Detached ADUs are standalone structures that are separate from the main house. They can be built as a separate building on the same lot or on a different lot altogether. Detached ADUs provide privacy and independence for the occupants and can be designed to fit the specific needs of the homeowner.

Attached ADU

Attached ADUs are connected to the main house and share a wall, roof, or foundation. They can be designed to blend in with the main house or to have a distinct look that sets them apart. Attached ADUs are ideal for homeowners who want to maximize their living space without adding a separate structure.

Garage Conversions

Garage conversions involve converting an existing garage into an ADU. They can be a cost-effective way to create additional living space without building a separate structure. Garage conversions are ideal for homeowners who have a garage that’s not being used for its intended purpose or who don’t have enough space to build a separate structure.

Junior Accessory Dwelling Unit (JADU)

A JADU (Junior Accessory Dwelling Unit) is a small living space that is designed to be affordable and accessible for young individuals or those just starting out on their own. Typically, a JADU is no larger than 500 square feet and is created by converting an existing bedroom or other living space within a primary residence. It is intended to be a separate living space with its own entrance, bathroom, and kitchen facilities. JADUs are becoming increasingly popular in areas with high housing costs, as they provide an affordable option for those looking to add additional living space to their property.

A Great Investment!

Overall, building an ADU can be a smart investment for homeowners who want to increase their income, property value, and flexibility while also contributing to a more sustainable and affordable community.

Why Build an ADU?

There are several reasons why homeowners may consider building Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs) on their property:
  • Additional Rental Income

Building an ADU can be a great way to generate additional rental income. Homeowners can rent out the unit to tenants, which can help cover their mortgage or other expenses.

  • Flexibility

ADUs can serve a variety of purposes, such as housing elderly parents, adult children, or providing a home office or studio. The additional space can provide flexibility for changing family needs.

  • Community

ADUs can help increase the availability of affordable housing in a community. By renting out the unit at a reasonable rate, homeowners can provide affordable housing for those who may not be able to afford to live in the area otherwise.

  • Increased Property Value

ADUs can increase the value of a property. Homebuyers may be attracted to the property because of the potential for rental income or the ability to house family members.

  • Sustainability

ADUs can be designed to be energy-efficient and sustainable. By incorporating green features, such as solar panels or water-saving devices, homeowners can reduce their carbon footprint and contribute to a more sustainable future.
